Finding the benefits of Acupuncture firsthand is what led her to become licensed as an Acupuncturist.

Shamayne has been in the healthcare field and is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist and Diplomate of Oriental Medicine for over 23 years. They may feel like…

…they are tired of feeling poorly and have hit a wall with typical options,

…they have heard of acupuncture but are skeptical, or

…they are curious to learn more because someone close to them has had positive results.

Do any of these statements sound familiar?

If so, reaching out to Shamayne Tate and getting an initial consultation is the first step in your wellness journey with acupuncture.

WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Simply speaking, it’s a technique where tiny, thin, disposable needles are inserted into pathways “or meridians” in the skin by a licensed acupuncturist. The treatment is designed to balance the patient’s energy, often called a life force, Qi or chi. Which reduces inflammation and releases the feel-good hormones and neurotransmitters that trigger the body's innate restorative healing ability. When the body’s energy is balanced and restored, the body can then begin to recover and creates physiological and biochemical changes in the body. Acupuncture goes beyond treating symptoms—it can release blockages, strengthen the body, and support balance so that the body can heal itself.

Traditional Chinese medicine strives to prolong life, while Western medicine was born out of the necessity to prevent  death. Both are very important and valuable in achieving and maintaining health. Included in these ancient practices are there are unique diagnostic tools that include feeling the radial pulse and looking at the tongue to detect imbalances before there are may even be symptoms. This is a holistic approach to wellness that encompasses the whole body—physical, mental, emotional, chemical and spiritual - as these areas are all interrelated and affect one another. Traditional Chinese Medicine can be transformative and enlightening.

Chinese medicine is safe. It has a long history of proven safety and effectiveness when performed by a trained practitioner.

03

No drugs and no side effects. The most common side effect is a sense of well-being.

04

Chinese medicine is one of the oldest and most widely used systems of medicine in the world. It has been in existence for 5,000 years and is used by 3 billion people in more than 120 countries.

WHAT IS THE TREATMENT PROCESS?

The treatment consists of a series of sessions that build upon each other. It is important to be consistent with your treatment schedule to achieve benefits.

Initial Session

Shamayne will review your health history, concerns, symptoms, and conduct a diagnostic evaluation to find out what is balanced in your body, what is out of balance, what needs to be supported and what needs to be calmed in your body.

 Treatment Sessions

Acupuncture is a healing process that takes time. She will meet with you 1-2 times a week after the initial session. She encourages clients not to judge treatment until after the 3rd or 4th session. Many clients do feel a change during and after their first treatment. You will know when the treatment is working because you will start to feel better. It is important to trust the process and give it time to work.

Additional Sessions and Maintenance

Some patients require additional sessions or seasonal “tune-ups” to maintain or achieve their health and wellness goals. Think of it like this we take our car in for “tune-ups” and we should also take our body in for “tune-ups”.

Most of her clients come in once a month for a maintenance session. They have experienced the profound benefits of acupuncture: a positive change in their lives, improved health and pain reduction.

TESTIMONIALS

Dr. Wallace-Young

I cannot recommend Shamayne enough! She was able to resolve my health concerns (unexplained inflammation - similar to arthritis) when the doctors at a large health system in the metro area were unable to help me heal after months of trying. She was nothing but validating and did not minimize my pain one time.

In addition, I am perimenopausal and Shamayne has provided tremendous support throughout the process. I have no hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, etc...If my libido dips I let Shamayne know and she boosts me right back up. She truly is a healer!

I have been so impressed with the positive impact of acupuncture that I refer so many people to Shamayne. I have not heard anything but rave reviews from everyone I send her way. The folks that see her comment on how grounding she is and how relaxing the experience can be. So many times I have had people talk about renewed hope after years of suffering following just one visit. The folks I send to Shamayne have resolved their infertility, migraines, neuropathy, anxiety, and neck injuries...In all honesty, I'm not sure there is anything I have sent Shamayne's way that she has not been able to address.
