“Your body holds deep wisdom, trust it. It will always speak to you but you have to listen."

~Shamayne Tate

ABOUT SHAMAYNE

From an early age, I knew I wanted to find a way to help people—emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. After graduating, I then worked for a non-profit for disabled adults for four years.

While working at the non-profit, I began having issues with my neck and hormones. I went to a massage therapist who told me to see a Chinese acupuncturist. I love Asian culture and Eastern philosophy, and I was open to her suggestion. The treatment improved my health tremendously. I saw that it not only took away my neck pain and balanced my hormones but also found that I slept better, was less stressed, and felt my entire body aligned in harmony. That experience sparked a desire in me to follow in the acupuncturist's footsteps and offer these ancient, ageless healing techniques to others

After enrolling in Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I dove headfirst into my passion for helping heal people with the various interconnected Chinese Medicine principles and the holistic approach needed to achieve wellness goals. I became a NCCAOM certified diplomate of Chinese medicine, licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in 2005, and since that day, I have been gratified by the extraordinary privilege of guiding countless clients towards the reclamation of their health and vitality through the transformative power of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

In my personal life, I reside in Lawrence, Kansas, and I am the devoted mother of two extraordinary, fierce, and loving daughters. I enjoy spending time with my two Dobermans, who are always by my side. I thrive on self-discovery, which includes reading, connecting with my community, volunteering, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I am originally from Colorado and love the mountains, roaring rivers, and a beautiful full moon.

I would like to acknowledge my family and friends that have supported me from the beginning to now, that have shaped my path to help others on their healing journey.

I am honored to be a part of your health and wellness journey.

Traditional Chinese medicine strives to prolong life, while Western medicine was born out of the necessity to prevent  death. Both are very important and valuable in achieving and maintaining health. Included in these ancient practices are there are unique diagnostic tools that include feeling the radial pulse and looking at the tongue to detect imbalances before there are may even be symptoms. This is a holistic approach to wellness that encompasses the whole body—physical, mental, emotional, chemical and spiritual - as these areas are all interrelated and affect one another. Traditional Chinese Medicine can be transformative and enlightening.
